    Today's reading

    Pages 864-876 (Luke 2-9)

    Something to ponder
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Think back to Moses. In what ways are he and John the Baptist (Luke 3) alike?
    Key passage
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    John answered them all, "I baptize you with water. But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire."

    Luke 3:16

    Reminder
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Time and Newsweek all cover many of the same events (e.g. 9/11, stock market crashes, elections). As do network TV, cable, radio and Internet. They all offer a particular slant. For major events of interest to us, we pay attention to more than one of these news sources.
    For the major events of the most important ministry ever, we have four sources and zero spin.
    Encouragement
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "The Bible is no mere book, but a Living Creature, with a power that conquers all that oppose it."

    Napoleon Bonaparte
